A serial robber was expected to be in Chapel hill yesterday. It is believed that the same man has robbed SIX other banks within the past 2 weeks in the raleigh durham area. He fled from the bank on Rosemary street with an "undisclosed amount of cash." He doesn't seem to display a weapon and hand the teller a note demanding the money.

A robber seemed to be in Chapel Hill yesterday. People have said that this same man has robbed six other banks between the last few weeks. This man seems to wear the same thing at every robbery. The North Carolina Bankers Association is giving a reward for information about this man, leading to the arrest.
I see that Sydney above me posted this same article. I did not know until i posted it. It just seemed like an intresting article.

This article talks about the recent troubles of the Wake County School systems of NC. This has been a national conterversy of the fact of seperating to neighborhood schools which the NAACP is calling a form of segregation. To me, this accusation is completly false... just because of the fact there are some neighborhoods that are richer than others and that fact that some families got luckier than others is not segregation.

Today I saw a video and read an artical about how the State educational leaders are saying that is time to stop pertending that "gateway" tests are actually determining if kids advance in school. So on thursday they voted to stop using the required end of grade tests for 3rd, 5th and 8th grade.

A group of Christians in North Carolina held a protest to get their city council to put a christian flag up at a war memorial. However, the council's president decided that it is a violation of the first amendment. Some people argued that those flags were seen throughout all parts of the city on private addresses and it would not make much of a difference if one was placed in a secluded area of the memorial. However, I think that putting a flag representing one religion in a supposedly diverse environment would be wrong. Anyone who feels the need to support the veterans with a christian flag should have to do that in their own environment, not in a war memorial where that would be the only religion represented.
The article i read was quite scary, its about a guy missing name David Green. He's been missing since April and neighbors was wondering why there's a "No trespassing" sign in front of the victims house. It turned out that his wife, Wendy Edmond Green who is 41 years old killed his husband, she was charged for first degree murdered. Investigators believe that David Green died at his home in April and that a preliminary autopsy found he suffered severe trauma to the head. True fact is that, according to the reporter, Harrison said Wendy Green and David Green never married but that they did have two children, a daughter, Alexis Green, 17, and a son, David Ruben Green III, 15.
ReplyDeleteWhat i think about this article is that its very scary and interesting. I mean why would a wife killed her own husband when she has three kids with him? It scares me when this kind of stuff happens. and knowing that he was found in the fridge, like really? that's gross. But this article, it looks like there's more behind the interview.

The video I saw today was about Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools board coming together and determining which of the 70 or more schools could be close or have big changes be made, to try and lower the budgets. The district leaders have not made any decision yet because they want the public's and parents opinions, ideas and/or solutions. One school that has parents worried is Davidson IB. Davidson IB. is still being determined whether it should be/shouldn't be closed next year. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg School leaders are having to do this to due to the state and federal cuts that will be happening next year. I find this very crazy, that school leaders are having to decide what schools to close in the Charlotte area. I think that closing schools will turn into a big mess because some schools will be overcrowded, children will have to make new friends learn how to get around the school and meet new teachers and the other schools maybe start having problems. This kind of shows us how bad the economy is today. I just hope that everything turns out well for everyone and no other major problems come up.

Apple purchases house.
In Maiden, NC, Apple purchased a home from a couple. The Fulbrights didn't want to move. However, Apple offered 1.7 million dollars for the house they bought 34 years ago for 6000. The now live in a 4200 square foot house with 49 acres. You can tell apple really wanted the land because they paid 1.7 million dollars for a house that was not worth that. They are building a data center right next to the house and wanted that piece of land too. This new data center is mostlikely going to be used to stream itunes music in North Carolina.

Two Town of Chapel Hill sanitation workers banned from town property while they are under investigation protested with members of several local organizations on Friday in front of Chapel Hill Town Hall. i thing that the right thing to do because they fired you and the people work for them. protesting is the right thing to do if you got fired by doing nothing wrong. if the people do something wrong then the protesting is the wrong thing to do.

My article is about an NC student who had a nose piercing for religious reasons being suspended from her school. This is too harsh, if it's her religion she should have the right to wear one. Even though she did just wear one piercing, she got a punishment of suspension for one school year. This is unfair. The religion has a very small population, but it's still a religion and it should be treated like other religions who can have exemptions of school rules if they are breaking them.

One inmate told jail offcials that walker approached anyone and asked if she knew anyone who could kill her husband in north carolina. She wanted to collect his death benefits from his insurance. And she also was accused of killing her mother with an ax in south florida. So thats what i read about.

Clayton High school suspended fourteen year old Ariana Iacono for getting her nose pierced, they said that she was violating the dress code. The girl was allowed back and the suspention was fully lifted off because Ariana says that getting her nose pierced is part of her religion (Church of Body Modification). Ariana's mother, Nikki, said, "The school has wrongfully forced her to chose between her education and our family's religion." To the defense of the school, it's attorny said that they did not preform all the proper procedures before taking the suspension to court. The court ruled that Ariana would be able to go back to school with no consequences and be able to make up all work.

the north carilina senatorial race is between incumbent senator richard burr and secartary of state elaine marshall. as of this time the race doesn't appear to be compative with burr in the lead. the diff. between the two were made clear in a resent television debate. most analyst believe that the debate will have very little impact in changing peoples minds.
