ReplyDeleteN.C. crops risk low yields after rains
The heavy rain that came our way last week has had an affect on north carolina crops. Its causeing lower yeilds for sweet potatos, cotton, peanuts, tobacco, and soybeans. Many of these crops were under water in Raleigh. Last week only 11 percent of cotton had been harvest and only 31 percent of sweet potatos had been dug. Then the peanut and soybean was just begin to harvest. But its coming up just it will take a little longer. Holly Neville

The article i read was about all the rain we had last week and how it affected the crops. That means that there is lower yields for sweet potatoes, cotton, peanuts, tobacco and soybeans. This isn't good for most of the crops because the fields had turned into ponds by the heavy rain. And some of the crops and just started to be harvested. 10 percent on a mans crops had turned sour because of all the rain.

ReplyDeletehttp://triangle.news14.com/content/top_stories/631148/average-n-c--murder-case-may-take-years-to-go-to-court
Today I read a article about how long the average murder case takes to go to trial. The longest is 544 days and they have 619 convicted murders and only 106 have went to trial. Some people think this is outrageous, but I think this is fair. Even the NC isn't doing this on purpose. I feel that the people that committed the murder should suffer every second. any who, I also feel like this shouldn't take three years to come to trial. So this situation is a fair game.
P.S. what is the world coming to ? :)
In Johnston County a 14 year old girl named Ariana Lacono was suspended from her high school when she refused to remove the small piercing stud in her nose. She says that her piercing is an article of faith. The ACLU is representing Ariana Iacono, who has been suspended from Clayton High School since last month.
ReplyDeleteLacono and her mother belong to a religious group called the Church of Body Modification. The school says her nose stud violates the dress code, but the ACLU believes the Iaconos' rights are being violated by the policy. I feel that they are wrong for suspending Ariana for not removing her piercing which was a symbol of religion. Religious symbol should be allowed in school, not allowin religious symbols is like trying to reduce her faith.

today i read about the state crime lab's work of N.C.
the state crime of north carolina exonerated a man in february who was unfearly convicted for 17 years on a murder conviction. but that wassn't the only case of pardon, people suspect that there's hundreds of cases like this incluinding several people on death row.
I think that the FBI and the sistem of security ,police they should do they job fearly and no just find someone, convict him without enough evidence.

In unite state of noth carolina also have crimal.
One of the guy didn't killed any one but he went to jail about 17 years. He was innocent. Because the crime was mass up. They didn't solved that crime correctly and clearly. But later on some FBI guys come and reslove that problem, so that guy were free. And he also got $ 750,000 for trade (he was inncocent).
I think is not good because he didn't killed any body. He was jst innocent. It is really hurtful and bad for his life. But he got money for that. He got $ 440,00 for every years. Because of he was innocent. If I were him, I don't want any money. I just want peace and rights. I will really mad if they put me jail without killed or doing something very bad. But in burma (myanmar)/ (my country) There are a lot of people innocent. They didn't do anything crime but still in jail for long years. they don't get any pay. I feel so sad for them.

NC Crime lab messed up. They think that man was a murrder conviction. That man wasn't a murrder and he had to stay in jail for 17 years. In the end they just find out that that man wasn't a murrder and they exonerate and given $750.000. i think this is so bad because they put that man in the jail and that man is not murrder at all.

In north carolina,a state panel exonerated a man who had served 17 years on a murder conviction.
It turns out key blood evidence used to convict him wast blood at all.
I think that is wrong, because the police have to make sure.I don't think police make sure that he not kill that preson.Befor you take that preson you have to think and chack befor put they on jail.

In this article a man have to go to jail.but after 17 years in jail, the security audit and found out he is not a real murder.he was an innocent. After that ,he was exonerate and got $750,000.
I think it really important to make sure which one the real murder before put them ti jail.
It really hurt to spend time in jail 17 years if you are innocent.u can die in jail during that peroid if u not a healthy person.

Last year there were fewer child deaths than Previous years. They said that the death rate was down by about 4 children. But unfortunately the suicide rate was up by quite a bit. The homicide rate was down though, which is good. The biggest change came from the amount of fatal car accidents and babies dying sickly.

Wendy Green is being charged with the murder of her boyfriend, who was found in a freezer today (Oct. 7). The couple never married, but have two children, the older being in jail as well. It has been reported the Green has been missing since April, but Wendy Green had just reported his disappearance on Sept 1st. Donnie Harrison, the investigator assigned to the case says that the information doesn't add up. They are still researching all that they can on the case.

ReplyDeleteI read an article about stimulus payments that were sent to dead or imprisoned people. More than 89,000 stimulus payments of $250 each went to people who were either dead or in prison. About $18 million went to nearly 72,000 people who were dead, according to the report by the Social Security Administration's inspector general. The report estimates that a little more than half of those payments were returned. An additional $4.3 million went to more than 17,000 prison inmates, the report said. I think that the us government needs a better way to track the living status of its citizens. the fact that they sent out that much money to dead people seems a little bit ridiculous.

ReplyDeleteThe job market suffered another blow last month, as business hiring dwindled and the government continued to shed workers.
Overall, the economy lost a total of 95,000 jobs in September, the Labor Department reported Friday, far worse than expected and down from the previous month, when employers shed 57,000 jobs.

Elizabeth City, North Carolina, there was a murder caused by a human named Christopher David Amyx, who shot a university student, Jonathan Schipper. Also, it seems Amyx was a part-time police officer (I wonder where he got his gun?) while enrolled in the same university. It was also noted in the article that "weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning." I don't really think I'd be ectstatic right after someone near by got shot to death. Plus, it seems Amyx will still be patrolling the same university. Eeven though he murdered someone, he's still ordered to stick around? I think that might cause others to be more intimidated.

This week, I read about NC State Crime lab. Teh innocent guy was in jail for 17 years. It was wrong, but after the office give his exoneration and he was set free. I think this is very important before you decided put him in jail you have to be very careful. Make sure you have all of the evidence.

This murder took place over two years ago and it took one year to make an arrest. Still one year after the arrest the first man is put on trial. I think that this is a very heart breaking story espically to those of us who knew Ira, but I think that the court should be testifying the men seperatly because you never know what will come out.

i read article about latino voters could help swing mid_term elections. There is a voting behavior of a nation largest group.Nationally, latinos make up an estimate 16 percent of the population. And they support the democratic candidate in their local congressional election and then just 22 percent say the same for the repulican candidate.and then finally , i guess that 55% of latino voter they plan to vote in this election .
well... after i read this i thought that the latino voters are strongly identified with the democrats.LAH

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1059
In this article it says that Latino voters can have an impact on the elections because they are the largest minority in the US. They usually vote for democrats, but this election only half plan to vote. I think they don't believe in the president and the congress. They promised something and they didn't give them nothing. This is why I think lots of them aren't going to vote.

This guy spent 17 year in jail but he was innocent. The crime lab where they do the evidence made a mistake. They gave him some money after they let him out. I think he can't use the money to replace the 17 years he lost. And sometimes people make mistakes with innocent person and that is so bad.

N.C. State Crime Lab's Work Draws Scrutiny
There was a man who didn't do anything but he spent 17 years in the jail because the crime lab messed up. They finally let him out of jail and paid him 750,000 dollars to make up for all those years. I think that is really bad situation for him because people don't really know the truth and then other people might be in the same situation. It is important to have the right evidence.
The article i read about was about how our states teen pregnancy went down two girls less less than 2008.The article also says how pregnancy and abortion rates for teenagers in North Carolina have been falling since 1991. And that usually African Americans or Black Americans are usually the ones to get pregnant other than white people and that rates are higher in rural counties than urban areas. This article made me feel kind of upset at the fact us teens get pregnant at a early age and it makes me want to fight to wait to the time that I want to have sex and get pregnant unlike other girls who just do it to fit in or other possible reasons.http://www.wcnc.com/news/health/Teen-pregnancy-rates-in-NC-reach-a-record-low-105246688.html
