I think it's interesting how a pizza guy can get sworn into congress. It goes to show you how random a lot of people are in the congress and house of representatives. These two areas need to be random everyday people in order for it to be fair decisions. Also, it shows me that if I really wanted to, I'd be able to become a congressman, no matter what financial status. This guy should be very proud of himself for what he has now accomplished.

ReplyDeletetoday i read about how the house votes to trim operating budget. Representatives voted Thursday to cut its operating budget by 5%. The measure, which GOP aides claim will save $35 million, passed 410-13. For the chamber's 435 members, who last year were allotted about $1.5 million each, the cut will mean trimming their budgets by $75,000.

Today I saw a video call Ellmers sworn into office at House of Representatives. Ellmers is now a member of the House of Representatives. On Wednesday afternoon she took the oath of office. Ellmers aligns herself with the Tea Party and hopes to offically cancel Obama's healthcare and cutting down government spending while in office. She says that she is very excited to get started right away. I just think that she has some good ideas even though she is a Republican but I'm definitely against her other ideas.

It seems that the government is not riding so high on air anymore. There has been some budget cuts here and there but now the budget cut wave has hit the Pentagon. the President reduced the money available to the Pentagon to $78 billion, which does not include the money for combat. The cuts are even going to the extent of war vets under the age of 65 have to pay more now for their Defense Department health insurance. And 47,000 troops have been cut from the Army and Marine Corps, now I'm lead to believe that everyone has been effected by the recession.

This article is talking about the Republican's plan to cut government spending, and how the newly appointed Boehner has decided to challenge Obama in this issue. Of course this is just the Republican's trying to gain support of the people, and trying to make the Democrats to be thieves stealing all of our money, but this is just politics because they would be overspending as well if the roles were reversed.

ReplyDeleteMarines' amphibious vehicle canceled
Raymond
Recently, the pentagon has decided to cancel the development of a Marine Landing Craft. This vehicle is designed to carry several marines from the water up to 25 mile to the beach and drive up the shore. However, over the past couple decades of development, the estimated cost has gone up from $9 billion for 1000 vehicles to $14.4 billion for 574. Even the secretary of defense, Rober Gates, said the it has become more impractical for an invasion by sea. I agree with Gates because missiles can still hit the larger ship from which the vehicle came from and put many more soldiers in danger.

My article is about the Illinois House of Representatives vote to make the ban of capital punishment permanent.
I really like how people are starting to speak up about the issue. Even though it's just Illinois, the entire U.S country mught put a whole ban on the capital punishment eventually. I personally think life in prison is equal to capital punishment. America is now safe enough to not need capital punishment as they needed it back then.

ReplyDeleteThe United States Consti ...tion
Leonard White
The article I read about was on thursday when Members of the House left out parts of the consitution while reading it aloud. They left out some crucialparts like the part where slaves are bound to service and that they are three-fifths of a person.
I think that was wrong and they should have read the whole thing. It seems to me if it is such a imporant document then all of it should have been read. They did amend them in the end.The Constitution deserves better. It should be
exercised in a way that is correct. Next time they should just read the whole thing.
The article i just read was about e-mail passing through at the people that works in the government. The e-mail prompted recipients to click on a link, which would then download the ZueS malware — a well-known malicious code that is often used to steal passwords and other online credentials, primarily to poach Internet banking information. The malware was created several years ago and is widely available for criminals to acquire and adapt. It has been used to steal millions of dollars. According to Cox, principle research analyst for NetWitness, a cybersecurity firm in northern Virginia that this ZueS-infected malware last year when it infected at least 74,000 computers and hard to determine how many people were affected or how many documents were stolen in this latest attack.
ReplyDeleteThis happened just a day or so before Christmas, delivered by a control server in Belarus. According to Jackson, The reason why the hackers do this because they were looking for information about law enforcement cases and investigative techniques related to cybercrime so that they could sell it to other criminals.
His opinion about it was "Criminals have found that if they change the files in small ways it can slip past antivirus software,".
What i think of this article is that its very interesting and nowadays, computer is a big part of US government. I mean, I cant believed that one virus actually effects a lot of computers evry year and those hackers are genius. Its ridiculous.

GOP Fears The US Government Will Hit The Debt Ceiling In 2011
The us is 335 billion dollars under debt. it is expected to increase as early as march 31.but it all depends on how much they collect in tax renvues. If that dosent help they will count on the tresury to make drastic measures and maybe give up on some investments.

ReplyDeleteThe article I read was about Oklahoma's challenge towards the Obama health care plans. I don't know all that much about the changes he's making, but I seriously doubt that they're "an unconstitutional Washington power-grab that seeks to force our citizens to buy certain products," as Governer-elect Mary Fallon describes. I think that with any plan there would be pros and cons, and we just have to accept that fact.

ReplyDeleteToday i read about Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne, who was asked directly by a reporter after the presentation whether the U.S. government would get back the money it invested to save the automaker from demise in 2009 "Absolutely," Marchionne replied. I think that the government is spending too much money on things that dont really matter.
