I believe that suing BP is a good idea. However, I think that the U.S. needs to change focus. I feel that the U.S. economy is having trouble ever since the stock market was invented and not because of these big corporations and C.E.O.s. Sure the stock market helps the economy a bit, but it feels like the whole thing is a ticking bomb that exploded and started the great depression, and is just waiting to happen again. If the stock market was removed, I believe the economy would drop a bit, but would eventually get better. After all, the stock market is just a fancy casino. You just can't predict it.

I think that this idea that Obama is trying to work out can really be a good thing. He says that's it's the first kind in the administration, which shows a good thing. It seems that the development of our relationships with other countries can really help with our (as a country's) reputation. I think that this is a good thing to be focusing on because if we get on good terms with other countries then it puts us in a better position. I just think that being partners with other countries can only hopefully make things better for everyone, including our government.

i have to say it frankly that i was deeply impressed by the speech Obama gave, by his smart phrases and wise thoughts. it is not familiar for me to read such things, and that's why my opinion might be a little bit different from the opinion of those who live in the States. i don't like that we should make harm and that chase peace. i like, though, that people are aware and willing to makes things become better, or at least become at their normal way., as they used to be before terror...
Without an agreement, he said, "more blood will be shed" and "this Holy Land will remain a symbol of our differences, instead of our common humanity." that's sooo true, and touching. i mean, if you really want to show that you care, you have to prove that, not necessary by words, but by actions. he also mentions about women rights, about the success of democracy and about that people make the difference.

  4. Despite bailouts of the car and banking industries there is a large fear of a double dip recession. Currently there are no signs of a complete recovery like that of which Obama was aiming for. Unemployment is stuck at a high 9.6 percent and economic growth has slowed to a rate of 1.6. These problems stem from a situation that has been progressing since the 70’s. It is simply this, the extremely wealthy or 1 percent of Americans takes in 23.5 percent of the nation’s total income. This means that the middle and lower class do not have enough money to drive demand up by large amounts of purchasing. Unless something changes with this situation, America will be unable to have a consumer boom like the one of the 1950’s. Kody Lakody, The Week.

Wow, so an al quaeda person posted a message on a website that they wer responsible for kidnapping people? thats kind of not smart since we can track IP addresses in which things are posted from. Deeper in this article, it says they actually kidnapped FIVE nuclear experts! major kidnapping right there. They also say in their message that "uranium thieves" caused the deaths of a lot of their "brothers". CNN themselves state they cannot verify the authenticity of this post. Still, it's a shocker.

I think this article was spot on.I think obama is wrong in a way becauese it was just a speech.Everyone has diffrent point of views and he had his. Also the UN is a place to meet and discuss issues not critizize people.I think it all comes down to the conflict that the USA has with the middle east.

I read about how Obama declared to end the U.S. Troop fight. I thought it was interesting because the U.S. military said their were about 15 attacks in Iraq each day. I dont think it's good for our soldiers because our soldiers are dying everyday. Another reason it's becoming a bad situation because people our dropping bombs on us, while we are trying to secure ourselves. I thought it was good for Obama to end the U.S. troop fight because it's hurting our world

The event that I found was was that the fronder of Facebook is donating $100m. Mark Zuckerberg is donating $100m to a school in Newark,New Jersey. He is doing this to inpove the schools. He is going on The Oprah Winfrey Show," To talk about why is he doing this. Also alongside Newark Mayor Cory Booker and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is going to be there.

I chose this curent event because i agree with Obama alot. The reason why is because i do believe if the teacher is not helping the student then they should be fired. Why be a teacher if you are not going to help the student pass. i strongly agree with this event that Obama has put out.

I think its terrible that someone is being given the death penalty. The woman has been said to have been "Border-line mentally challenged", by another site covering the story. The mentally-challenged woman had hitmen murder her husband and stepson. Government, Supreme Court, denies an appeal from her, and it says that she's the first woman to be executed in the U.S. in five years. Not a good record break to be proud of. Not only that, she has mental issues. I couldn't possibly fathom why they would execute a mentally challenged woman.

Reading a story about soldiers and their suicide on a us army base was messed up. It says recently four soldiers on a base in Iraq committed suicide. Adding those four suicides to recent suicides on that base assums a total of 14 suicides in the past year. This tells me that that base should be renewed with a new commander or officer in charge. The army should show something good comes out of war before having u.s. soldiers decide to kill themselves because of missery. Hopefully this rate of suicides drop completly.

While trying to get their candidates in the North Carolina State Senate race, Republicans and Democrats are trying different techniques to get more votes. Democrats found some 20-year-old drug use record to use against one of the Republican candidates. Republicans, on the other side, are using TV ads to show that Democrats are against Muslims. The North Carolina state is known for the meanest politicians and political campaigns. During the Civil War, North Carolina was extremely dangerous in matter of politics.

I think that such political campaigns aren't unusual as it always happened. Also, making the opponents look worse by finding some facts about them is very popular. I think that those should be stopped. What the parties do now is what matters. Sure, a person might have done something wrong in the past, but who hasn't? The elections should be about the present and the future of the state or country.

I've never actually seen any news about Ecuador so this is literally news. It's also super... weird. National police physically attacked the president over what is said to be "cancellation of bonuses and promotions". This was also posted on the Facebook page of the Correa's party congresswoman. This is highly surprising to read that first of all, a president was openly attacked by many and then facebooked about.
So i guess to me this article is both a realizaiton that places all over the world have issues with their governmnt but atleast here we're more civil about it, and we're lucky for that. and also that facebooking harsh news is a nice way to spread info. It just seems super "innapropriate" to facebook about that. Like, if a friend of mine was just attacked i would't post it up on my profile. But it's all diffrent in contexts i think.

These people are saying the government stimulus funding is bad, but they are taking the money themselves. This means they are lying in a way. Politicians have a reputation for doing that, but the Tea Party Republicans have said they are not like the existing politicians, but are better. After reading this article, I don't think they look any better than the politicians they are complaining about.
