This article is different than most because usually you hear about people dying in explosions. In this one is about a grenade that went off and no one died. I've never read anything on Thailand before but this shows me that there's war going on everywhere in world. Turns out it's the 4th explosion, of which the first 3 have killed one person and wounded many. It seems like this happens everywhere, so it doesn't move me at all and I'm pretty sure the world will stay this way for a long time.

I agree with obamas discision to finaly get the troops out of iraq. After almost 7 years the brave men who faught in iraq deserve to go home.Bringing troops home will bring familys back together. Also the money that would have been spent in the war can now be spent elsewhere.

ReplyDeletetroops are going to begin to return home president obama said in texas. but 50,000 troops will still remain at a fort until next year. obama told his troops from his oval office “is not going to be a victory lap; it’s not going to be self-congratulatory. There’s still a lot of work.” Obama said that, that night was to convey one of his central promises.

I thought this artical was really interesting, i think is great that she sues them for what there doing to illegal immigrants. I don't think is fair to ask for the Green Card when hiring for a job and making them fill in more papers to be able to get hired. I think it's good that the law of Arizona; which is to having the right to check there legal status was put on hold. Hopefully that law doesnt grow and become a larger conflict.

President Obama has allegedly called our former president George W. Bush.He called from Air Force One while in route to Fort Bliss on Tuesday. This took place before the prime time speech regarding the end of the combat mission in Iraq. Nothing has been issued about what was said because the White House has not released any information at this time.

I believe that Obama is trying to do the right thing for our country by haveing 50,000 troops still remain. But it is also good that Obama is letting some troops go back home to their families after years in war without seeing their families. I hope that someday this war will end and all the troops will be able to go back home, but there may never be peace which is very disappointing.

In this article President Obama talks to the troops of Bliss, Texas about a good job in Iraq but that they are not completely out of there yet. It makes me happy to know that president Obama is trying his "best" (we don't exactly know if he is or not) to get our troops out of there safely. I kind of fell bad for him that he has to clean up Bush's mess. But in my opinion he is doing a farily good job. The only thing that I'm conserned about is that although our trops are coming out of Iraq, I'm lead to believe from this article that our troops are going striaght from Iraq to Afghanistan. I really hope that this will change.

ReplyDeletehttp://www.speroforum.com/site/article.asp?idCategory=34&idsub=127&id=38866&t=The+Ground+Zero+Mosque+and+the+Clash+of+Symbols
The community center, or "mosque" being built a couple blocks near ground zero on NY has caused a large amount of conflict between people especially the more conservative crowd and the muslim commmunity or liberal party. There have been various other community centers for other religious groups built around ground zero, and no uproar was caused then. The fact that a few islamic extremists chose to take an idea and run with it, which caused a product of terrorism against the U.S., does not represent islam as a whole. Any religion is responsible for countless individuals who can not deciefer what is right and what is wrong and it is not anyone religion that causes destruction, but the people who take it to far, so having a small Islamic community center a few blocks from ground zero should not even be an issue, however is, although all muslims should not be held accountable for what happened with a few extremists, because this is America where everybody claims to support religious freedom.
In eastern Indian due to crop failure the inhabitants threaten to commit mass suicide. One farmer says "ultimately we all die so why should we suffer like this everyday it's beter to day. “We have used up all our seeds, but for the last two years, there has not been enough water for our crops to grow. Seeing the desperate situation in our homes, we are thinking, ‘What is the point of living?’” says villager Julay Munda.
ReplyDeleteI think the governer there should at least send them some food to survive until a decision can be make to help them. Clearly the rural people are less important to the officials than urban.http://rt.com/Top_News/2010-08-31/india-village-suicide-hunger.html

ReplyDeleteIt was released that instead if pulling our troops out of Iraq, around 500,000 will stay. It was said by our president that it“is not going to be a victory lap; it’s not going to be self-congtulatory. There’s still a lot of work.” I am dissapointed that we will not be leaving the war in Iraq, but I guess it's what we have to do, considering our countries chaos.

i dont think it really makes a difference if they caught this guy. people are still gonna do drugs. people are still gonna find a way to get them even if they put all these drug lords away. you cant catch everyone who does this stuff so there is still gonna be a big drug problem.

ReplyDeleteSilly-rubber-bands-could-be-health-danger-for-youngsters-family-warns-101836013
This article is different than most. I agree with the authors statement. Wearing too many silly bands can lead to cutting of the circulation of the skin. This article relates to schools and health issues. Silly bands are a hit at my school and i think it is important for people to notice this effect of wearing too many. These bands are popular and can still be worn but make sure they are not to tight and you'll be fine. Silly bands could be a health danger for kids world widly so watch out.
"As I was peeling away the layers, I actually noticed they were in the skin and that he had a couple of spots where the skin had rubbed away and it was open," he said.

This is pretty much why not too many people like North Korea. They are way to stingy on everything, and they think they can simply control over it. Well surely you can't control the internet. North Korea learned that the hard way.
Seriously, this weird unsocial country really needs help... >_>

I find the amount of people completely opposed to the idea of building this mosque astonishing. Of course, I understand that 911 hit many citizens of america hard, and they find the matter extremely serious. However, that does not justify the discrimination and hate that has occured in America these past few years.
I don't believe that this mosque was built to be "salt in the wounds of 9/11," either, and I am sure those who are for the idea to build this mosque respect those that died and suffered. (I do, for sure.) But I do believe that there is no really good reason to be so opposed to it.

Scientists used to think that the dinosaurs were killed by only one meteor impact. However, recent studies show that ther was, in fact, at least two impacts that occured a few housand years apart. they know this because of the two "fern spikes" in the layers of rock. "Fern spikes" are layers filled with fern spores. Ferns are known to be excellent at bouncing back after meteor impacts.

I thought this article was interesting. It has been on the news quite a bit lately, and it tells of the drug kingpin in Mexico nicknamed "La Barbie". He is accused as being one of the premier drug traffickers who has been smuggling cocaine into the United States. Mexican police captured him after a shootout. This has been a good thing for both Mexico and the US.

ReplyDeleteMy current event is about another oil spill
that was not as bad as the last one. I think
they the oil drillers should have more safety steps
they should have to take. The oil is messing up the ocean
and we need to put a stop to that. The next gerneration will
have trash if we dont fix it.

ReplyDeletehttp://www.csmonitor.com/World/terrorism-security/2010/0831/Entire-US-Mexico-border-to-be-guarded-by-Predator-drones
Entire US-Mexico border to be guarded by Predator drones, Barack Obama spent 6 million on two more predator drones to be put in the air. Napolitano said: "This is yet another critical step we have taken in ensuring the safety of the border and is an important tool in our security toolbox," i think that this is a good and bad idea: to put up Predator drones because someone could probably camping near the border. the border patrols could mistake them and think they are trying to "jump" the border.. also the good thing is that sometimes drug lords cross the border to sale their drugs and with the predator drones they know from where they are coming from. but its also unfair that they don't have predator drones in the US- Canada border.
