This article is about adult diapers. In Japan, the birth rate has declined. This mean that there are less babies being born and less baby diapers being used which is causing diaper companies to lose money. But, this decline also means there are more elderly people and more adult diapers. A japanese company has figured out a way to reuse adult diapers as green fuel for biomass boilers and stoves. I am a big time advocate for green energy so this sounds great to me.
11 women that are about to graduate from the naval academy are going to be the first women submariners. Im surprised that this hasnt happend yet since women have just about everyother job possible. These women will be making history for 2010. The women have said they want to be treated no different than their male counterparts. Its nice to see women making history next we will have a women president.
This article is about GM looking at Hawaii fro afforable hydrogine. This hydrogine would fuel Fuel cell cars. The company is working on a fuel cell system for cars that could be ready for market sales by 2015 The price for this would be equally or less then the price of gasoline.I am a go green girl so this would be a great thing to see happen in the future. Well I hope that someday in the near future that their will be a "green" car that is afforable
This article is about how Vice president Joe Biden's son who sufferd from a mild heart attack. I find it really strange that this would be in the news ,most people didnt even know Bidens son name was Beau.I just feel that their is a lot of news out their and their are some other things that could be in the news. But I do enjoy learning a little bit more about Bidens "home" life, but i dont know if many other enjoy it so much.
This article is about the results of the recent controversial Prime Minister elections in England. As England has a multi-party system, there was a kind of tie between three candidates; Cameron, Clegg, and the returning Gordon Brown. None of the candidates won a full out majority, but just today, conservative leader David Cameron decided to join with Liberal Democrat Nick Clegg to stabilize parliament and win the election. This is incredibly surprising considering the two entirely different sides from which thee candidates come, and considering that at first, Cameron had the least power in this election, but the Prime Minister has been decided. Now, Cameron is the Prime Minister, Clegg is the Deputy Prime Minister, and Gordon Brown, after serving several terms, was forced to resign.
My article is about the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Some say this is an opportunity to learn how to prevent future disasters, but others say it is time to pass a bill in Congress stating there should be no more off shore oil drilling, because on land the spills are more easily contained. It has been 21 days since the incident began and 11 people have died due to it. There are several companies right now who were in Congress today. They are now on their second attempt to contain the spill. The companies are currently playing the blame game because they frankly have no idea exactly what happened so there is no one to pin point. The next step in trying to fix the problem will be completed Thursday.
A Philadelphia, Pennyslvania police officer told authorities that he was shot while on patrol; then later confessed that he did it himself. He did it just to get publicity, or a transfer to a different unit. Sgt. Robert Ralston, the police officer; reported that on April 5 he saw two African-American males arguing on a train track in West Philadelphia. He told investigators that when he stopped the two men for questioning one of them pulled out a gun and shot him in the left shoulder. Which was an absolute lie. I was just shocked at this that someone would actually go throught pain, or loosing a limb just to frame someone else or just to change locations. He was a 21-year veteran of the police force, and will be made to pay the cost of the investigation that followed his report, and has been suspended with the intent to dismiss. He will not, however, face criminal charges because police granted him immunity to obtain his confession.
This article, unforunately, is very very sad and distressing. A man in China attacked a kindergarten with a kitchen cleaver, killing 7 students. He then returned home and commited suicide. This is at least the 4th attack on primary school and preschool students this month in China. These statistics worry me a lot. Nobody seems to have any idea why this is happening, but it's really awful. I can't believe anybody could take a cleaver to kindergarteners!
http://www.cnn.com/video/ jennifer said... i watched on cnn that this guy named Paul N. got a job by wearing a sandwich sign in the streets of NY for ... 99 weeks i think? he used to work in the toy industry but got layedoff. he said that he felt like he was "in another life". When he finally got a new job his job coach said that if he changed the outside (he canged his hair and shaved the mustach) he would fell better on the inside and do better at other things. his new job is still in the toy business but this time with magic!
The article i read about was about an event that went on a couple weeks ago. i did a current event on it. It is about the bombing that went on in time square. the FBI has been all around the northeast to arrest three people. including.. two Pakistanis who apparently believe to have provided money for the bomb to Shanzad ( guy arrested day of bombing). These searches took place in Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Maine.
I did my article on the bp oils spill in the gulf of mexico. They are trying to seal off the pipe that is pouring an estimated 210,000 gallons (5,000 barrels)of crude oil everyday. Their idea of clogging the hole with bits and pieces of rubber tires and golf balls failed to keep the oil from spilling out. Many scientist are worried that a near by current will pick up the crude oil and carry it along the east coast. If this does happen this will become a huge natural disaster.
This article is about whether or not Casey Anthony should be given the death penalty or not. Casey has been charged with the murder of her 2 year old daughter, Caylee. Caylee was found dead in 2008 in a parking lot. Arguments against giving her the death penalty are that she has never commited any prior offenses. However arguements for the death penalty are that it was premeditate and there was no legal justification for the murder. They also found out that she had been abusing her child before she killed her. I think it is terrible how someone could kill anyone, more so kill their own child.
Casey is on trial for killing her daughter. There is currently a debate on weather Casey should receive the death penalty for the crime. In the state of Florida, there has to be one of 15 factors to determine what accused criminals are at the threat of death by lethal injection. The jurors are asked to weigh aggravating circumstances that make a crime especially heinous against mitigating factors that favor mercy, such as a lack of prior offenses. Casey is accused to preform particually terrible crimes.
I read an article about a train wreck in Mebane. A tractor carrying heavy equipment got stuck on the tracks and the train ran into it. The man driving the truck got out before the train hit his car. All passengers in the train were safe, although there were a few injuires. 1000 gallons of fuel leaked from the train onto the tracks. Cleaning up is still in process. I think that its very unsafe to drive over train tracks when your vechicle is carrying a heavy load. It's very easy to get stuck and very unsafe. I am glad that no people were killed in the wreck. http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/7600756/
ok so the article i decided to do this week is on the first 11 women to become official navy submerineistssssss haha i spelled that wrong but any way, these women graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and are now achieving a monumental achievement. i think its amazing, i definately thought there were already women submarineists. it just surprised me to know that now in 2010 9s when we are finally achieving this goal and it makes me wonder what took so long to make it a women job as well?
This article is about the busy hurricane season this summer that's on track to collide with the BP oil spill in the gulf coast. Scientists don't know what's going to happen, but are worried. According to them, as much as 19,000 barrels of oil are being released every day from this oil spill. This is the largest spill in US history. It's very hard to track what would happen to all this oil if a hurricane met it, or what effect the spill would have on the storms.
This article is about the fate of Disney's ABC. Yes the Disney we all know and love also has a sector of ABC. ABC has not had the best of rating so Disney is really losing money so they are debating about selling it.Disney as you may know makes millions on their theme parks and shows such as Hannah Montana,So if they did end up selling ABC it would not to bad on them. The reason that I choose this article is because I love Disney and i defiantly want them to be around a lot longer.
