I'd say that having 48 to 60 million illegal immagrants in the U.S. is a pretty big problem. Obama wants to count them in the census, but how many people want to say, "I crossed over illegally."

I'm glad that our society does not have arranged marriages. Nujood is really brave for standing up for her rights and demanding a divorce..

Google has recently introduced a Hawaiian language as one of its "interface languages." This comes as a major advancement for the language, which is "highly endangered." I find it strange however, that we could read our google homepage in "pirate" before a legitimate language...

The whole situation should really just be left alone until the Minister is proven guilty of the accusation of abusing drugs. Its not fair that all his priveleges are "partially' being taken away and his rights are being violated without being proven guilty of the matter

A good practice article, but not the type of thing I usually prefer to read about.

The U.N. wants 230 million dollars to feed 3.8 million starving Kenyans for six months. This is a good thing to do because they don't have enough money for themselves, and they can't grow any food because there is a drought.

Senator Kennedy died yesterday after a long-term struggle with brain cancer. I was disappointed to learn of the death of such a long-serving and influential senator. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) had served in the senate for 46 years prior to his death. He had one of the longest and most influential careers in the democratic party and until his death was a crucial 60th vote in the Senate for the democratic party. He will be missed by the political community.

I think that people shouldn't make that big of a deal about a comedian's jokes. They're only meant to be humorous and not offensive. People should learn to laugh at themselves.

I think that it is unfortunate that Senator Kennedy died but I am glad that he left behind a lasting legacy that helped bring an end to discrimination in favor of white Americans over other ethnicities. Without Senator Kennedy, America might not have been as ethnically diverse as it is today. I think it is great that he and his brothers fought so hard for minorities and helped pave the way for President Obama.

Sophie and I think that it was a very odd article. We can understand why the penguin has to wear clothes because he sheds all at once. We're just slightly concerned of what the wet suit could do to this penguin, but hopefully the wild life center in windchester will take good care of him.

We are very sad about Senator Kennedy. He was a great man, and he contributed much to a great (and better) political party. Rest in peace Mr. Kennedy.

I think that people should be more careful when they are driving. Especially on a busy street like Franklin Street.

I think the story is very sad that somebody had to loose their life over something that was not that big of deal.I think that if the officers would of tried to help more then none of these would of never happened.A young adult that was trying to do somwthing with his life ahd to die in this way.

  14. Suicidal planet seems on death spiral into star:
    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090826/ap_on_sc/us_sci_suicidal_planet
I think this article looked interesting at first because there was a planet about to collide into a star. But then The article stated that it would take maybe a million more years to live. Its about 325 light-years away from the earth and named WASP-18b. The planet is about 10 times biggers than Jupiter.

I think this article was well written. Obama wants to help enforce the defenses against future hurricanes that may rake our coastlines. He wishes to have more than just one agency working on trying to rebuild in Florida and New Orleans than the one that has been working on this project for the past four years.

US airlines are raising the fees for shipping bags. The latest airline to do so is US Airways.
I understand that with the economy as weak as it is, airlines need to bring in extra money. I agree that this is a good way to do so. After all, we're only upset by the prospect of paying to check bags becase we're used to being able to ship them for free; there is nothing morally wrong about charging for this service. It does however increase the cost of travel, which, as someone who has to fly to visit family, I am not happy about.

I definitely don't like how illegal immigrants are getting health care. It would just encourage them to try to immigrate into the U.S. illegally.

This is an interesting article about a security guard in somalia who got kidnapped and escaped from his captures while they were sleeping, without a fight.

I think that it was really cool to see that a bear could climb a ladder to get out of a skate park. im glad that they didnt shoot it and instead helped it escape.

This article got me thinking, what else is in our universe. What if new breakthroughs are happening somewhere far away in another galaxy that we won't be able to see. Imagine how big the universe is.. and how much were missing. I hope we don't run into the sun before we can explore everything around us (our galaxy.)

at the beginninng of the article i dont reallie like how now they are thinking of "El Rio Dulce". that rio is not that buts pretty! ive been there myself. the other part of the article is much better. i like how the guy helps at the school for kids especially knowing how not many people help out alot in Guatemala! they also donated shoes to the kids and the kids are very happy even though it was to solamente 96 ninos alo menos tiene ya algo pa ir a la escuela now

We found this to be a very interesting and funny article. It was also very unusual and its title was somewhat misleading - it sounded as though a captive bear (or more than one) had escaped from a zoo or another similar location. It is instead about a bear that was trapped in a skate park.

I think that this article is biased and the author is ignorant. He is insisting that about 1 in 5 americans are illeal and that obama only wants to grant them amnesty to secure the vote the would have as citezens.
