ReplyDeleteIt is very sad to hear the Teddy Kennedy has died. He was a very important man to our society. His life was full of scandle but he was always able to show that it didn't matter.

ReplyDeleteI thought it was very interesting how much the price of solar panels has dropped. According to the article, panel prices have dropped 40% since the middle of last year. This could be very helpful for the planet because more homes might soon be getting solar panels.

ReplyDeleteI find this article funny!!! When walking your dog around a cow farm, remember to release your dog. This is because the cow is more interested in the dog than in you and is more likely going to attack the dog. This part is weird to me, i don't know if cows just don't like us (because we eat them) or they are more attracted to dogs, but it's interesting.

ReplyDeleteThis article is really interesting because 350 new species of animals have been found in the Eastern Himalayas. These species weren't discovered for a while because of the difficult terrain of the Himalayas. 244 new plant species, 16 amphibian species, 16 reptiles species, 14 fish species, two bird species, two mammal species, and 60 new invertebrate species were discovered.

ReplyDeleteWas the CIA not made to improve and protect the United States of America? One would think that after the creation of the Geneva Convention and the serious consequences of war crimes, we would have stopped toturing foreign prisoners. Apparently, hypocracy doesn't apply to us if we're torturing detainees in our foreign prisons. Just because Guantanamo Bay isn't actually inside the U.S.A. doesn't mean that we can go against our own jurisdiction and physically and emotionally torture prisoners, many of whom are put there without reason and without trial.

ReplyDeleteNew York City Ballet let over a dozen dancer go after their spring season ended. The layoffs were made to members of the Corps de Ballet. All members who were let go were in their early twenties or younger. most have known nothing else, but ballet for all their lives. Now they are forst out of one of the best companies in the world. A company dancer dream about joining froma young age. These layoffs were made because of the recession. The layoffs will save millions of dollars for the company which has lost money in the recession.
The truely sad thing is that the company is still hireing newbies instead of putting a freeze on the company. I feel so bad for these dancers who have worked all their lives to get to the New York City Ballet and now are being let into the a unfamiliar world. Most of the dancers never went to college and have no other work experience.

ReplyDeleteI think it pretty crazy that fans would get that mad and dissapointed in a team that they would go to the extent to bring guns. Soccer fans all over the world are doing similar things to eachother. I find it amazing that people can get that angry over one game.
Governor Bev Perdue has prepared to sign a new bill that will allow North Carolina to compete with other states for filming projects. North Carolina will increase the tax credit. So who wants to see a movie produced in North Carolina??

ReplyDeleteIt's cool that the cost of solar pannels has gone down. Energy efficiency is important. Global warming, pollution, etc. makes the world unhappy, and it's best to keep the world as happy as possible, it's not just our planet. The lowered price of solar pannels means that more people have access to them, meaning that more people can use them, meaning that we become a little more energy efficient as a society.

ReplyDeleteI think that this article is interesting because this cruise ship as been sitting and rusting in the Delaware River in South Piladelphia. Although this ship is sitting, it's up for sale by Norwegian Cruise Lines. The president of the S.S United States Conservancy Susan Gibbs would love for this ship to become a historical attraction. I think that would be very interesting and i would consider visiting it.

Continuing on my post earlier... Don't walk by yourself by cow farms in England! It's dangerous and there aren't any WARNING: ATTACKING COW signs. A hint: bring a dog with you and then let it off the leash. Once the cow has started to watch the dog, run!
